Today we are delighted to have launched the Maths Horizons Project, where we will review what and how maths is taught in primary schools, secondary schools and sixth forms.
We want to ensure that all children get at least a grade 4 in GCSE Maths on their first try, that more students from all backgrounds progress to higher maths, and that the supply of maths skills meets employer demand.
We are so pleased to have a brilliant Executive Group formed of experts from across the sector, and the project will seek to bring practitioners and experts together to analyse options for maths curriculum and assessment. We will consult widely, including with primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities and businesses. You can sign up to be involved here.
